Use your Spanish hem foot and endless hoop to make these tropical placemats. First we will embroider the strips and then use 30 weight thread to complete the Spanish Hem assembly. These are fun and you learn to use another foot!

Tour of North American Mystery

Thurs, July 3, Aug 7 and Sept 4, 10–2pm
Join Sew-Ciety on a tour of North America without leaving the comfort of our classroom. Let us be your guide as we take you to exciting destinations from northern Canada to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and many spots in between. You’ll create a quilt at each stop along the way. All you need to do is pack your bag-your sewing bag, that is and we’ll do the rest. The total package includes your personal tour guide, travel vouchers, custom threads, lodging, and food. See you in July for a Mystery at the Jersey Shore! Come in early to select your color way! Mystery kit is $29.99 each month and includes fabric for a lap size quilt top, instructions, regional snacks and a “Come Back Home” discount card.

How to Quilt Your Quilt

You have taken great pains to pick just the right colors and fabrics. Your points are all pointed and each seam is flat…now what? Spend a day learning how to plan and audition stitch motifs for your quilt and turn it into a masterpiece. Identify shapes and sizes on the quilt top you bring to class. See how the quilt’s theme can be two of your one designs but also collaborate, view the designs of others and learn from everyone else in the class. Whether you decide to machine quilt the quilt yourself or have a talented Longarmer do the job, this class is a must. Bring your tops!

This show will be filled with wonderful color “how tos”. See samples from all of Linda’s Embroidery Collections and Quilt patterns including the Thread Sketches series just released from Golden Threads. Learn about coloring techniques using Tsukinecko All Purpose Inks and Fabrics Dual Head Markers. Linda makes it fun, fast and easy. She shows how you don’t have to be an artist to enjoy success. See finishing techniques using the Fabric Mover. See how 4D Aligner and 4D Sketch methods can also be used to make your own wonderful designs for coloring. Come join us! Mega Flowers, Mega Fun

Friday or Sat, July 11 or 12, 10–4pm
“Wow” is all your friends will be able to say when you show them the projects you made in this class. You will use a variety of products from Tsukineko to color your fabric and learn quick techniques. “Thread Sketching” with Sulky Blendable Threads will bring out the dimension and define the colorful shapes. No need to be an artist! You will have fun and it will be fast with the ease of the coloring and thread sketching techniques. Inks and lunch will be provided.

Your First Quilt!

Make a small pieced lap sized quilt from start to finish in 3 sessions. Included in the classes will be beginning fabric selection, rotary cutting skills, piecing, borders, batting information, sandwiching and machine quilting basics, and finally binding application practice.
